By accessing or using the Slate & Snout website at slateandsnout.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Slate & Snout provides AI-generated pet portrait services. Users upload photos of their pets, select an art style, and receive a digital portrait. Optionally, users may purchase physical prints of their portrait.

3. User Responsibilities

You must own or have rights to the photos you upload
You must not upload inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
You must provide accurate information when making a purchase
You are responsible for maintaining the security of any download links provided to you

4. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of your original photos. Upon purchase, you receive a personal, non-commercial license to use and display your generated portrait. You may print, share, and display your portrait for personal use. Commercial use (e.g., merchandise, advertising) requires written permission from Slate & Snout.

The Slate & Snout name, logo, and website design are our intellectual property and may not be reproduced without permission.

5. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in US dollars and are subject to change. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. You agree to pay the listed price for your selected product at the time of checkout. We do not store your payment card information.

6. Refund Policy

We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not happy with your portrait:

Digital downloads: We will regenerate your portrait with adjustments or issue a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
Physical prints: If your print arrives damaged or you are unsatisfied with quality, contact us within 14 days of delivery for a replacement or refund.

7. Shipping

Physical prints ship within 7-10 business days to US addresses. International shipping times vary. Free shipping is included with all physical print orders. You will receive a tracking number once your print ships.

8. AI-Generated Content

Portraits are generated using AI technology. While we strive for the highest quality, results may vary based on the source photo. We do not guarantee exact replication of your pet's appearance. The free preview feature allows you to evaluate the result before purchasing.

9. Relationship with Service Providers

Slate & Snout uses the following third-party service providers to operate:

Vercel — website hosting, serverless functions, and image storage (Vercel Blob)
Stripe — payment processing and checkout
Replicate — AI portrait generation
Resend — transactional email delivery

Your use of our Service is also subject to the terms and policies of these providers. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services, though we select providers that meet our standards for security and reliability.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Slate & Snout shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific product giving rise to the claim.

11. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
